Just in time for November 11th the course opened at 11:11 a.m.
Nevertheless, it was about an extremely serious topic: How do I defend myself against an attacker with a knife?
30 participants from at least eight clubs (SC Lotos Berlin, SG Stahl Blankenburg, KDK Nordhausen, Budo-Akademie Berlin, TSC Berlin, BSG Neuzittau, Seimitsu, SG FEZ Wuhlheide) and a wide variety of styles such as Shōtōkan Karate, Gōjū-Ryū Karate, Ju-Jutsu and others learned a compact package of theoretical knowledge and practical exercises in four hours.
Ultimately, what they learned was condensed into a relatively simple defensive action, but one that can be easily implemented against any attack with a knife – just typical of SaCO.
The participants were also happy to take advantage of the opportunity to take photos with the teacher Frank Pelny and sign his book “Gjogsul – Military Close Combat in the NVA”.
One participant summed it up: “Wow. Great course. I learned a lot.”
With so much enthusiasm, the date has already been set for the coming year: November 9, 2024.
